まちかどギャラリー、今月からイラストレーターの中根ゆたかさんの作品を展示しています。福知山に住まい、綾部の廃校をアトリエに創作される中根さん、とっても楽しい作品たちです。

Profile
Born in Shiga in 1976. Graduated from the Osaka Designers’ College. After working for a design office, started his career as a freelance illustrator. He currently lives a peaceful existence at the foot of the mountains on the outskirts of Kyoto. While spending days working on his art, he plows the earth, cooks rice on a wood-burning oven, fashions his atelier out of lumber, and bathes in water heated by the fire of branches gathered along nearby paths.
1976年滋賀県生。滋賀県立大学環境建築デザイン卒業後、1年間渡米。その後、大阪デザイナー専門学校を卒業して上京し、デザイン事務所を経てイラストレーターして活動中。
現在は京都の端っこにある山の麓で畑を少し耕し、火を起こしてカマドでご飯を炊き、アトリエを（材木で）造ったり道端で拾った木の枝で沸かした五右衛門風呂に入るといった、ピースフルな生活を送りながら絵を描いている。
一方で世界の都市へも頻繁に滞在しており、2016年夏はポートランドで暮らしている。
